Mario Chalmers, whose full name is Almario Vernard Chalmers, is an American former professional basketball point guard. Standing 6-foot-2, Chalmers played primarily as a point guard and was known for his perimeter shooting, playmaking and defensive ability. He entered the NBA as the 34th overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft and spent most of his NBA career with the Miami Heat. Chalmers also played for the Memphis Grizzlies and later continued his professional career overseas and in the NBA G League. He finished his NBA career with 646 regular-season games, averaging 8.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. He won two NBA championships with the Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013 and was selected to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team.
